Due to significant funding constraints, Mnaasged Child and Family Services will be restructuring our Jordan’s Principle unit.
We would like to share an important update regarding the current status of funding for Jordan’s Principle. Due to significant funding constraints, Mnaasged Child and Family Services will be restructuring our Jordan’s Principle unit.
Mnaasged CFS was informed of substantial reductions in funding from Indigenous Services Canada (ISC), directly affecting the operations of the Jordan’s Principle program. These cuts present considerable challenges to maintaining the current level of services and supports for children and families who depend on this vital initiative. As a result, effective June 6, Mnaasged will implement organizational changes, including the unfortunate phasing out of three positions within the Jordan’s Principle unit.
Jordan’s Principle is a critical initiative that ensures First Nations children receive the care and services they need without delay. The funding reductions significantly limit our ability to uphold this principle in practice and constrain the reach of our support within the
community. Despite these challenges, our unwavering priority remains the well-being of the children and families we serve. We are committed to doing everything within our capacity to continue providing essential services. We recognize that this news may be concerning, and we welcome ongoing dialogue, collaboration, and community support as we navigate this difficult transition together.
Thank you for your understanding and continued dedication to the spirit and mission of Jordan’s Principle.
